Morgan Taubert: After more than a decade of studying and teaching middle eastern rhythms and with a musical background as diverse as his family heritage, Morgan is not a traditional drum teacher. After playing in Slovakian, African, Gypsy, Blues and Funk bands, as well as a solo world fusion project, Zebulon, his approach to drumming is anything but customary. Having taught in primary schools, high schools, dance studios and the Inverbrackie refugee camp, Morgan's articulate knowledge of the language of rhythm, and his passion for sharing music make his classes fun, challenging and rewarding.
This beginners workshop covers the principal techniques and theory used for playing middle eastern rhythms. Suitable for the absolute novice as well as the devloping drummer, it will include a wide variety of rhythms in different timings, as well as extensive written notes to allow the student to continue to teach themselves after the festival. Students are encouraged to make their own audio/video recordings in class to assist with further home study. ALL LEVELS
